The Dielectric Digest — October 2025

From the Desk of MAKA Power

September was a month charged with momentum — exactly how we like it. From powering through a major plant shutdown to joining forces with new industry partners, MAKA Power continues to raise the bar for electrical reliability and safety across Manitoba’s industrial sector.

This month, we’re also stepping up our leadership in the field with a live webinar on Electrical Safety & Preventative Maintenance, hosted alongside Food and Beverage Manitoba. Add in a successful arc flash analysis, a strategic new hire, and our official membership in GEAPS, and it’s clear — we’re not just keeping pace; we’re setting it.

Let’s get into it.

Project Spotlight: Beverage Plant Shutdown

Another successful plant-wide electrical shutdown wrapped up this month at one of Manitoba’s largest beverage facilities. Our field team executed a complete suite of electrical testing and maintenance services, including:

⚙️ Electrical apparatus testing to verify equipment reliability under real-world conditions.

🛢️ Transformer oil analysis to safeguard long-term system health and detect insulation degradation before it becomes a failure point.

The outcome: improved power quality, safer operations, and peace of mind for one of Manitoba’s biggest producers.

New Partnership: MAKA Power Joins GEAPS

We’re proud to announce that MAKA Power has officially joined the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) — North America’s leading professional network for grain handling and processing operations.

This membership underscores our growing commitment to the agri-processing and bulk material sectors, where electrical reliability and safety are critical to keeping grain, feed, and food production flowing.

Through GEAPS, MAKA will continue to connect with industry leaders, share expertise, and deliver electrical solutions that power Manitoba’s agri-industrial backbone.

Welcome to the Team

MAKA Power is thrilled to welcome our new Product Marketing Manager Elissa Nein to the crew. This strategic hire will refine how we communicate our technical capabilities, sharpen MAKA’s voice across markets, and ensure our growth message cuts through the noise.

The goal: Aligning our technical excellence with clear, compelling market storytelling.

Safety First: Arc Flash Analysis Completed

We recently completed a comprehensive arc flash study for a leading packaging manufacturer. This analysis ensures personnel safety, regulatory compliance, and proper labeling across all electrical panels and switchgear.

By identifying high-risk zones and optimizing PPE boundaries, MAKA Power helped the client meet CSA Z462 standards and enhance the safety culture across their entire facility.

Final Thought

Every project, every partnership, every connection — MAKA Power’s mission remains the same: Protect people. Protect production. Power Manitoba forward.

If your facility hasn’t reviewed its electrical maintenance or safety program lately, don’t wait for a failure to remind you why it matters. Let’s talk.
